Throughout the summer I am running a number of classes outside, all of them are suitable for beginners as well as experienced practitioners. Students are welcome to book in advance or just drop in on the day. Here’s what’s on offer…
The lovely image above was taken in the tree circle at Millfields Park, Clapton, E5, where I will be holding my weekend workshop this Saturday 11am-1pm. It looks as though somebody has been having some midsummer fun in the tree circle over the weekend, when I went out to flyer this morning I found this lovely maypole in the centre of the circle. I hope it’s still there for the weekend class!
On top of the existing Thursday daytime class at Core Clapton, I have just started up another weekday daytime class by the bandstand in Springfield Park, E5 (see picture on right). This class is for complete beginners, and costs between £5 and £10 depending on what you can afford. Currently it takes place on a Monday morning between 11am and 12 noon, get in touch if you would like to come along.
Then of course there is the upcoming Summer Camp, which takes place 26-28th July in Hazel Hill, Salisbury. We have hired our own private woodland and will be training Wudang Kung Fu and Tai Chi Friday lunchtime to Sunday afternoon, there will also be a talk from me on how to use the Tao Teh Ching (see Philosophy page) to help with your Tai Chi practise. This little hobbit house is the luxury accommodation, there is one bedroom up for grabs in here. The standard accommodation starts from £280 for shared rooms; this includes the cost of vegetarian food. Camping is also an option, as are single bedrooms, but there is only one single left. For more details, see the facebook event https://www.facebook.com/events/371483273474386/
A new evening Qi Gong class will also be starting up on Walthamstow marshes in July, which will be followed by a Kung Fu class. Our traditional Tuesday Tai Chi class will be going outside in August, watch this space for details. New classes are springing up all over the place at the moment, so if you have a particular time of the day or week you like to train, get in touch and I will let you know the latest. Till then enjoy the summer!
