Welcome to Wudang Pai Tai Chi GB, My name is Lucia or 袁微容 (Yuan Wei Rong), I am a 16th Generation Descendant of the Wudang Clan and I teach Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Kung Fu and Wudang Sword from the Wudang Kung Fu curriculum.

Corona Virus Updates:  All classes currently take place online via conference call using Zoom, details here. Kung Fu on Thursday evenings has been replaced with Qi Gong for small spaces. To train Tai Chi and Qi Gong online in your own time, follow my youtube channel where I am making a series on how to train an immune-boosting exercise known as Standing Stake. If you are facing financial difficulty due to the virus, please ask about my concessions rate. In addition, my rate for private lessons on weekday daytimes has been reduced, more on that here.  Now more than ever I feel that people need the mental and physical health benefits of training Tai Chi and Qi Gong, and the sense of community that training brings with it. We are strong when we stand together, and even stronger when we Stand Stake.

Classes are held in Central and North-East London; in Euston and Clapton on Thursdays and Tuesdays. We offer classes to suit a range of inclinations: gentle Tai Chi classes for health, more vigorous Kung Fu classes for fitness and stress relief, and traditional Wudang Tai Chi classes some say are ‘as close as you can get to training up a mountain in China while in London’. Beginners are welcome at all classes, and instruction is tailored to suit the student’s level. Private and Corporate lessons are also available by request. To find out more about what Tai Chi is and how it can help you, check out the about page, or watch the short video at the bottom of the page.

We love to train Tai Chi in nature, and from May to September have monthly weekend workshops in beauty spots around Hackney; in the colder months these workshops take place indoors. Our summer Tai Chi retreats take place in the English countryside; the next one is on a farm in Milton Keynes 26th to 28th June 2020, you can find out more about that here.

I started studying Tai Chi in 2002, and met my shifu Yuan Li Min at his school on the Wudang Mountains, China in 2006. Since then I have spent a total of around 2 years training with him full time in Wudang, and return there most years to study or take my students on retreats. In order to deepen my understanding of Tai Chi I learned Mandarin, and dived deeply into the Taoist Philosophy of balance and harmony. To hear more about my story, check out this article from Tai Chi Union magazine.
